ERRING MOTORISTS.
NUMBER BEFORE COURT.
A small number of erring motorists were prosecuted by the police in Court this morning for breaches of the city's by-laws. Hub-Inspector Lewin and Senior-Sergeant Edwards prosecuted.
The following were each fined 10/ and costs for leaving motor cars unattended: A. W. Abbott, N. C. Bassenden, W. T. Beagle, C. Browne and R. McKenzie.
Foe failing to obey a traffic signal, H. C. Wliitmore was fined £1, plus costs, and for allowing a bus to stand in Queen Street and with failing to produce his license, G. G. Wyatt was fined 10/ on each charge.
E. A. Lewis was mulcted 10/ and costs for not having lights on his car, and £1 and costs for aot having a driver's license.
A fine of £1 and costs was imposed on a. motor cyclist, Albert Johnson, on a charge of speeding. Hawking Without a. License John Peris, who has been before the Court on several occasions recently for hawking without a license, was again charged. This time he was fined £5 and costs, or 14 days' imprisonment. City Council Prosecutions. Only a dozen prosecutions were brought about by Mr. G. E. Hogan, chief traffic inspector. For owning a bus with defective brakes, Thomas B. Dunderdale was fined £2 and costs on each of two charges. Dangerous driving cost Athol R. Parks, Roderick Hatcher, Wilbert Mattson £2 and costs, while James E. Bethune, Donald Rawneley and John D. Barber were fined £3 on the same charge. Driving hie taxi along Manukau Road at 3o miles per hour cost George T Austin £5 and costs. He was charged with dangerous driving.
