WHAT CENSUS SHOWS. ADDITIONAL FIGURES. METROPOLITAN AREA COMPLETE. Additional figures supplied to-day by the Census Office complete the figures for the metropolitan area of the Auckland district. For the completion of the total, the figures were required of the Birkenhead and Takapuna boroughs and the One Tree Hill Road district, without which the total was 170,483. Following are the particulars supplied to-day:— ONE TREE HILL ROAD DISTRICT. Males ~ 3490 Females .... 3684 <Maorrs 2) Total 7176 BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH. Males 1520 (Maoris 21 Females 1503 (Maoris 1) Total 3026 TAKAPUNA BOROUGH. Males 2924 (Maoris 14) Female 3120 (Maoris 14) Total 6072 The total for the .three areas is, therefore, 16,274, and this, added to the previous figures, brings the metropolitan total to 186,757. The following additional figures were also supplied for districts in the Waitemata County:— NEW LTiNN TOWN DISTRICT. Males 1282 (Maoris 1) Females 1253 Total 2536 GLEN EDEN TOWN DISTRICT.
