OLD FOLKS' REUNION.

■ a Saturday was Old Folks' Day at St. James' Presbyterian Church, Wellington Street. Fine weather favoured the gathering, and, consequently, fully 200 people assembled in the Church Hall. • The old folks were brought to the hall in motor cars lent by Church members, and, after spending an enjoyable after- ■ noon, were driven back to their homes. Several of the old people present were well over SO years of Itge, and a few of these had not had an outing since last year'? reunion. Once the old folks had gathered, afternoon tea was handed round, after >vhich Mr. A. J. Entrican welcomed the guests on behalf of the kirk session. He j advised them to keep young by keeping ! busy, and by sympathising with and being interested in young people. The Rev. Ivan K. Harries spoke on Psalm xxiii.. and stressed the need of all for the confidence based on the Shepherd, the source of all true confidence, for the courage of faith which would lead j all through the darkness and chills of life without fear of evil, and for the hope beyond death of an eternity with Christ. * During the function, favourite hymns of the old people were sung, and solos were rendered by Misses Paul and Gow, Mrs. Stephen, and Mr. A. L. Macpherson.
