OUR NON-PAYING RAILWAYS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —We are informed that the Daylight Limited expresses will cease to run after June 5, the loss on seven months' running being about £30,000. A f 30,000 loss; a mere bagatelle to the railway. Now it is quite evident the Department knew this particular Eervice was not paying expenses months ago. What then, can be their excuse for continuing it for another four or five months? Is it to be wondered at that with such management our railways do not pay?—l am, etc., RAILWAY PASSEXGER.
