WOODIICE. (To the Editor.) Sir,—The most successful way to get rid of wood lice is to clear the ground all round the house of all garbage, including roots of grass, etc., and if possible dig over the ground. The wider the space the more successful the job. Your advice re hot water is good, but the digging is better. —I am, etc., TRIED AND PROVED. "WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED.

Sir, —I think we ought to look round our gardens to see if we cannot find a day's work for one of our unemployed, and would suggest that 20/ per day is not too much, as it is to help a fellowrreature. Someone says, "Work done for one another. God accepts, my brother, as done for Him.—l am, etc., SYMPATHY.
