The initial ceremony in connection with the national hospital day movement took place at the Waibi Hospital yesterday afternoon and was marked by a large gathering.
The visitors were shown over the institution by the medical and nursing staffs and addresses were delivered by the Mayor (Mr. \V. M. Wallnutt) and Colonel Jowscy (representing the Hospital Board).
A lecture dealing with the advantages of the training for nurses- was given during the afternoon by the medical superintendent (Dr. J. McMurray Cole).
