FREEZERS' DISPUTE.
STILL UNSETTLED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The Canterbury freezing works dispute is still unsettled. The men have been working at the normal rate during the last two days in view of to-night's conference with employers, convened by the conciliation commissioner, but no settlement was reached at the conference. The union asked if the employers represented at the conference, namely, the Xew Zealand Refrigerating Company, the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, Messrs. T. Borthvviek and Son, Ltd., arid the North Canterbury Sheopfarmcrs' Company, were empowered to give an undertaking on behalf of all the companies affected. The employers replied in the negative, stating that the award was Dominion-wide in its scope, and they could not bind all the other companies. 1 lie conference then adjourned.
