SIX MONTHS' HARD LABOUR. GUILTY OF NEGLIGENT DRIYIXG. (By Telegraph. —Press Association.) INVERCARGILL; this day. Sentencing Alfred Henry Dusting, » policeman found guilty of negligently driving a motor car and causing bodily injury to Elizabeth McKinna, Mr. Justice Sim said that if the prisoner had admitted his guilt and taken steps to compensate the girl he might have granted probation, but •he steadily denied his guilt up to the last, and tola lies to his superior officer. In. addition it was apparent that he must have been tampering with the evidence of certain witnesses. Being a police constable ii should, have set a better example. There was too much reckless driving. Accused was sentenced to six months' hard labour.
