AQUATICS.
RICHMOND CRUISING CLUB. RACE TO OSTEND. The Cruising Club will hold a race to Ostend. Waiheke, to-morrow afternoon. The boats have 'been divided into two classes, but they will start together, at 2.43 p.m., from off the Ponsonby wharf, by the three flag system. The. course is from starting line, between the end of Ponsonby wharf and eastern end of Watchman Island, direct to Ostend, keeping channel side of Shelly Beach, Sandsplt and Brown's Island beacons, and Bean Rock lighthouse, finishing off the western point of the-tmy. The entries and handicaps are as follows: Class 1: 'Marere, on the wind scr, off the wind scr; 'Rakoa, 3m, im; Mowal, 6m, 2m; Rouen, Bm, 2m; Lovellght, 3m. 3m; Otira', 2m, 3m; Valdora, 6m, sm. Class 2: Muru, on the wind scr, off the wind scr; Almlra, 4m, 14m; Tulip, 7m. 3m; Gladys, 10m, 6m; Verona, 10m, 6m; Kathleen, 12m. 7m. The officers for the day are: Starter, Mr. J. Longbottom; Judge, Mr. T. L. Thompson; timekeepers, 'Messrs. F. Burke and W. Bailey. A dance will be held at the Ostend Hall on Saturday evening.
TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB. The Takapuna Boating Club will hold a race for the Z class (Takapuna onedesign class) to-morrow afternoon, starting at 2.30 p.m. The course will be the usual one, starting and finishing off the club house. The entries and handicaps are: Edna scr., Frolic scr., Winsome scr., Comet 2m, Myrth 3m, Tio Sm, Sport 4m, Lai Lai 4m. The officers for the day are: Starter, Mr. W. A. Wilkinson; judge, Mr. F. Fortzer; timekeeper, Mr. C. Brinsden; recorder, Mr. H. G. Carr.
