HUNDREDS AWAIT RESULTS. Hundreds of electors in the Ponsonby '■ district took advantage of the opportunity offered by the district postmaster, Mr. Xixon, of ■watching the progress of the elections on a screen in front of the Ponsonby Post Office. NTot only local but also Dominion reeults were screened, and electors were thus spared the inconvenience of travelling to town, where the, results were watched by huge crowds. ■ Addressing ' his electors ■ when hi-s success had been announced, Mr. Savage paid a tribute to Mr. Nixon's enterprise, and stated that he hoped the practice would be carried out at all future elections. The results of the Auckland West polls were made public in exceptionally smart time. With the exception of those from the Great Barrier, which did not affect the issue, all the returns had been screened before half-past eight o'clock. «■ s . . ~
