IS THE WAR STILL ON?
(To the Editor.) Sir.—After reading the Reform party's supplement issued with your Saturday's number, one is prompted' to ask himself the question, '"Is the war still on?" Is the Reform party being so hard hit that they have—like the Yankee—to indulge in flag-waving and sentimental humbug? So far I have not beard or lead of any platform they are submitting to the voters for decision on Wednesday. The supplement says "Support him (C'oates) by voting for the above candidates,"' which surely means that the Reform candidates will be puppets bearing a name? It certainly looks as if the Hon. Gordon Coates is aping Mussolini, and it remains to be seen what the decision of our educated populace will be on Wednesday. For a considerable "time now the Reform Government have been largely legislating by "Orders-in-t'ouncil" without the aid of Parliament, ajid it would appear that, if the Reform party obtains a majority on Wednesday, witli Reform candidates pledged to carry out the whims and caprices of an u.nprove.l leader, that '"Orders-in-Connril" will be the orders of the day.—l am, etc. T NATIVE BORN.
