CYCLING RACE.
A good field of eager competitors faced the starter, Mr. Barry, at Otahuhu on Saturday, for the fifteen miles road race, which was run under perfect conditions. Several hundred people gathered to witness a thrilling finish, the first and second men riding neck and neck for the last quarter of a mile, the winner to win by inches. Following is the result: D. Storey (3_), 1; C. Reed (4), 2; B. Mathieson (3). 3. Winner's time, 45 minutes. Fastest time, W. Hills (scratch), 44 minutes, 10 seconds.
