THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM. DEMPSTER UNABLE TO GO. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. It Is understood that S. Dempster has been unable to secure the necessary leave to visit Australia with ti.. New Zealand team. ■Since the original selection of the team there have been four withdrawals announced, namely Dickinson, Rowntree, Hiddleston, and Dempster. Rowntree and Hiddleston have been replaced by James (Wellington) and Gillespie (Auckland), and, according to the arrangement of the reserves Banks (Wellington) is due for the vacancy created by Dempster dropping out. Apparently a special effort is being made to get Dickinson away, for his withdrawal was announced a fortnight ago, and there has as yet been no word of the appointment of his selected understudy, Henderson (Wellington). Alloo (Otago) was also sated to be doubtful about being able to get away a fortnight ago. The team is scheduled to sail from Wellington on November 17. With the changes made by the withdrawals lt is the youngest side that has ever represented the Dominion. Only the captain (W. R. Patrick) and, perhaps Mcßeath, are over 30 years of age, as against four players over that age in the colts' team which visited Australia in the 1913-14 season. FRANKLIN ASSOCIATION.
