BLACK SHIRTS AT HOME
LABOUR LEADER THREATENED.
MASS HYSTERIA MANIFEST.
LATIN BRAGGADOCIO
(By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright.i (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, August 14. Mr. A. J. Cook, the miners' leader, to-day received a black-edged envelope containing a British Fascisti pamphlet entitled "Commission Unmasked," in which is written: "We are ready for you and your dupes, swift, sudden, sure. We long for the day to cleanse the country of such blackmailers, and we are now five hundred thousand strong. This is the first of three warnings."
Mr. Cook, commenting on the pamphlet, suggested it is time the British Government took action against persons threatening the leaders of the trade union movement and British citizens. He was British, and no threats would deter him from doing his duty. The open encouragement of such threats would only )ead to the formation of similar working-class organisations, which would result in serious conflict and perhaps civil war. — (Reuter.)
