A visit to the California, now berthed at the Prince's wharf, satisfies the visitor that the American sailors are fond of music. From all directions, when one entered the sailors' quarters, came the sound of gramophone music. There were jazz numbers mingling with classic masterpieces,, lilting lullabies and marches, in all creating the atmosphere of a huge music establishment.
