NEW SOUTH WALES MINERS.

RIFT WITHIN THE LUTE. - SYDNEY, August 12. The board of miners' delegates, sitting at Newcastle, decided that the president of the northern miners' branch of the Miners' Federation and the delegate from the Pelawmain branch shall meet the central council of the federation in Sydney to formulate a policy for submission to the members for ratification. The president of the northern branch, in addressing the board, said that if a fight were to take place the forces of the miners must be solidified. The question of disciplining the Pelawmain lodge, or of taking other action, was left for the conference in Sydney to decide. The Federal Council of the Australasian Coal and Shale Employees' Federation commenced a discussion to-day of all the disputes on the various fields, including Pelawmain. The conference , will sit until Friday in an endeavour to arrange a settlement.— (A. and N.Z.) COMPULSORY CONFERENCE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Mr. Hibble, chairman of the coal tribunal, has summoned a compulsory conference to meet on Monday to discuss the general position of the coat industry, particularly in the Maitland field.— (A. and N.Z.
