» ■ DEVOHPORT CLTJB. ANNUAL PRIZE NIGHT. ! The Devonport Yacht Club held the annual presentation of prizes won during . the past season in the Masonic Hall, Devonport last evening, the president, Mr. G. Trevithick, presiding over a good attendance. Mr. Trevithick was supported by Commodore George Mackenzie. Vice-Commodore George Barber, Commodore A. E. GifEord (R.N.Z.V.S.). Commodore C. Hogan (V.C.C.), Commodore T. Dyson, (Pt. C.S.C.). Mr. J. B. Johnston (chairman A.Y. and M.8.A.), Mr. B. W. Beaumont (chairman A.R.C.), Mr. Chas. P. Murdoch and representatives from the Akarana. Ponsonby, Takapuna and other local clubs. Tile chairman welcomed the visitors and said the club was honoured to have such a large number of visitors from the sister clubs. Theix club had only been revived two seasons ago. but already they had grown to considerable proportions, and he trusted they would worthily uphold the traditions of the old club. Mr. Trevithick made special mention of the presence of Mr. C. P. Murdoch, an old officer of the Auckland. North Shore and Devonport Clubs, and called ou him to present the prizes. The chief prize winners Trere : Duder Cup. Venus: Edwin Cup, Kotiri, Maude Shield, Wairiki; Opening Cruise. loranci, speed boat race, Miss Devouport; club regatta, Romance 11. During the evening the following toasts were honoured : "Auckland Harbour Board and Local Bodies." proposed by Mr. Trevithick and responded to by Mr. J. B. Johnston: "Donors of Trophies." proposed by Mr. Geo. Barber and responded to by Mr. T. Michaels: "Kindred Clubs." proposed by Commodore Mackenzie and responded to by Mr. B. W. Beaumont, chairman of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta Committee; Mr. C. I". Murdoch also received a hearty greeting, and his health was drunk with musical honours. During the evening a musical programme was rendered by Berkeley's Orchestra, and Messrs C. Crowther, C. Richardson and H. Wells.
