CHARGES INCREASED
FOR TOWN HALL HIRE. A new scale of charges for the hire of the halls and concert chamber at the Town Hall were decided upon by the City Council hist evening following a recommendation of the Legal and Finance Committe after having been supplied with a report from the town clerk., There is a general all-round increase in the hitherto existing rates for all halls, and also a 50 per cent increase on the hiring rates of pianos. Supporting the recommendation of the committee hist evening was presented a table showing the hiring fees for the main hall and concert chamber of the town halls of Auckland, Welling, Adelaide. Melbourne, and Sydney, and, on the basis of seating accommodation, the fees in Auckland are considered very reasonable in comparison.
