JERSEY STUD SALE.
I IMPORTED BULL 550 GUINEAS. A notable sale of pedigree Jerseys from the famous Pencarrow herd was held at Tamahere on Wednesday. Buyers and noted Jersey breeders were rrom North Auckland, taranakl, Manawatu and all parts of New Zealand. Great interest surrounded the Tour-year-old bull Masterful, which Mr. Frank Day imported from Jersey Island, where he was good enough to win the second prize at the Jersey Island Royal Show. This fine animal, arter spirited bidding, was knocked down to Mr. W. Campbell, of Leamington, Cambridge, for £577 10/. a record for a bull at auction in New Zealand. The highest priced female, Russie, a well known performer In the show ring:, and also the •winner of the first Walkato Jersey Oaks, went after good v bidding to , Mr. A. E. Walker, of Takanini, for £315. A large percentage of the stock stays in the Waikato. The total return from the sale was £6808 14/. Thirty-Tour cows averaged £79 odd, ten two-year-old heifers £94, eleven yearling heifers £76 odd, eighteen yearling bulls £59, Tour aged bulls £180. and six calves £23 odd, with an average of nearly £79 per animal.
