TAKAPUNA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting of 'the Takapuna Borough Council was held last evening, the Deputy. Mayor <Mr. G. W." Williamson) presiding. There were alio present:—Messrs. A. a. Wllkle, H. Collins;G. Creamer, H. H. Grerille, C. Mackley, A. H. Wilkle, G. H. Matthews, F. W. Suckling, and F. E. >• Gaudin. .-. "... ~; •, ; *;\ . . On the recommendation of the building inspector, eighteen permits of a total value of £8833 were granted, ft; X recommendation from the Streets and Works Committee that the present construction work on Walter's Hill be limited to s the amount authorised in the £75,000 street 1 works loan was adopted, •;- The Takapuna Central Ratepayers* and Residents' Association asked that the council, take the steps'necessary to secure a continuous telephone, service in the borough. It was decided that the association be Informed that their request' would be forwarded to the. Department. A request from the Waltemata Electric Power Board-for the councils consent to the erection of electric power lines In the district was granted. . v The Bayswater-Belmont Progressive Association asked for: particulars of the work to be carried out by the Takapuna Tramways and Ferry Co. in the formation of a retaining wall at Bayswater.
