UNITED CHURCHES OF CANADA. (By Cable.—Press Association. -Copyright.) (Received 11 a.m.) OTTAWA, June 7. Fifteen hundred delegates at Toronto opened the first conference marking ill" union of the Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational Churches of Canada into one great body, known as the United Churches of Canada. There are S7OO congregations, with a total membership of 2,500,000. A number of Presbyterian anti-union-ists, consisting chiefly of Old Country people, are staying outside, calling themselves '"Continuing rresbvterians."—(A. and X.Z. Cable.)
