SPAIN AND THE RIFFS.
PREPARATION OF OFFENSIVE. FRENCH CLAIM ADVANCE. LOXDOX, June 7. The Madrid correspondent of the "Daily Express" says the Spanish headquarters have planned a general attack on the Riffs. It will be launched this month. The entire Spanish air fleet of 30 aeroplanes will take part. Ten thousand well-trained men will attempt to take the heights of Ilbticemns. In view nf this operation, says the cormspoiicloni. Spain lias hoiieht from Britain all the available landing material which was u«ed at Gallipoli. A report from Rabat. Morocco, stales that the Riff lender. Abd-el-Krim. commenced a violent offensive against the French position on the Taounat plateau. At first he slightly drove back tbe French, but later Colonel Frevdcnburg's forces intervened and the French regained the upper hand.— (A. and X.Z.)
