NO NEGLIGENCE.
VERDICT ON COLLISION. (By Telegraph.— Own CorrespondPnt.) HAMILTON - , this day. A claim was brought in the Court yesterday by James Quinn, borough employee, against Harold Rotherham, a carrier, for £655 damages owing to alleged negijgence by one of defendant's motor lorry drivers in colliding with plaintiff's cycle, knocking him off and 'breaking a leg. Of the total sum, £500 were claimed for special damages.
Plaintiff admitted that -when the collision occurred he was on the wrong side of the road, as he was giving a vehicle which was coming up behind him, room to pass. The jury, after a short retirement, found there had been no negligence and returned a verdict for defendant.
