HEIR TO £40,000.
WAR ORPHAN'S FORTUNE. LONDON, January 2d. The National Children's Adoption Association announces tbat a goldenhaired, blue-eyed baby boy—the orphan son of a soldier gassed in the war—has been adopted and made heir to £40,000. The names of those who have adopted the child have been kept secret. The hoy will be i-.-ared and educated in the hc-t surroundings. Since 1017 the Association ha« 1700 babies, practically all of them going to wealthy homes.
