HAMILTON STOCK SALE.
The Farmers' Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—
At Hamilton, Tuesday, May 13, we had a good yarding of all classes of stock, prices in general being equal to those lately ruling. The demand for sheep waa fairly steady and all lines were ultimately cleared. Fat wethers, medium, made 33/: forward lambs, 10/ to 21/6. A few small lines of ewes in lamb were penned, making 21/ to 26/. Small 2-tooth wethers made from 21/ to 2D/9; cull ewes, 10/. The beef pens were fairly well filled, 'values- being slightly firmer than the previous week. Light-weight steers made from £6 13/ to £7 15/: forward sorts, £5 to £6; fat cows, £5 to £6: light-weights, £4 10/ to £5 5/; unfinished cows, £3 10/ to £4 5/t store cows, 25/ to £2 ; 3J-year store steers were in fair demand, backward conditioned sorts making from £4 11/ 15/. The calf market was ns usual the reverse of buoyant. Jersey cross made from 16/ to 27/; Holstein, 13/:
Pigs were again briskly competed for, heavy baconers making to £4 12/; lightweights, from £3 5/ to £3 15/.; porkers, £2 10/ to £3; light porkers £2 to '£2 "/»; store pigs, £1 7/ to £1 16/;-slips, £1 to £1 5/; weaners, 12/ to 16/. -
