FRIESIANS FROM CANADA.

PEDIGREE CATTIiE ARRIVE. TO STOCK PANMORE FARM. After a voyage of five weeks from Montreal, twenty-seven pedigree Friesian cattle arrived at Auckland this morning by the steamer Canadian Constructor. The cattle, which were consigned to John Court, Ltd., were all looking well after their long voyage, and had apparently not suffered much in condition. They were lifted on to a ferry shortly after the steamer berthed, and were taken to Motuihi for the regulation quarantine period of 40 days. released from quarantine the animals will be taken to the farm at Panmure, owned by John Court, Ltd., where there are at the present time 75 pure-bred Friesians and 60 grade cattle. Six cattle which arrived from Canada a fortnight ago are at present quarantined, prior to being taken to the Panmure farm. During the voyage the new arrivals were fed on bran meal and hay, and were under the charge of a keeper. They were housed in improvised wooden shelters on the fore-deck, and were much favoured by the fine weather that prevailed throughout the trip. Though moderate to fresh winds were occasionally encountered during the last fortnight of the voyage no water was shipped on deck.
