A SLIGHT INCREASE. ■]' THE LATEST TOTAL 1,326,661, (By Telegraph.—Press Association.! WELLINGTON, this day. The Government Statistician's return shows that the population of New Zea* land slightly increased during the June quarter, when it stood at 1,326,664, compared with 1,325,301 at the end of March, and 1,318,884 at the end of last year. These figures exclude Cook Islands (13,375) and Western Samoa (38,100). The Samoan population showed a da' cline during the June quarter.
