INDECENT ASSAULTS.
TWO WAIKATO CASES. MAN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEABS, (By Telegraph.—Own HAMILTON, this day. A Karapiro fanner named Anthony Francis Smith, -was found guilty beiote Mr. Justice Stringer yesterday on a charge of having indecently assaulted his daughter. A technical point was raised by accused's solicitor, Mr. King, which his Honor said he -would look into before passing sentence. A man of over 60 years of age, Caesar Charles Wanters, -was found guilty on a. charge of indecently assaulting a child of six years of age at Cambridge. His Honor told the jury that they would be interested to hear that prisoner had already served a eentence of six years for indecent assaiilt. In sentencing him to five years' hard labour, his Honor stated that had accused done the child actual injury, he "would have ordered his) a flogging.
