LADIES CHAMPIONSHIPS. I'll* omiHhiSntion of the provincial ladles' under the auspice* of the MicKlaiia Ladles' Club, was marked yesterday by beautiful weather, and in the leebnd rnuiiil the players who were prominent for their play were Mrs. Slack (Cambridge) and Mies M. Payton (Auckland). Both Iheee ladies won their matches in good style, and, should they get through In- the neml-tinnl to-day, Interest in the final will be very keen. In the ftemt-flnat Mrs. Black plays Mrs. Marshall and Mies Payton playe Mrs. Hodges. The final will be played on Friday afternoon, atter the arrival of the 12,10 train, and after the tnn!.-h Mrs. O. H. Bloomfleld will present the prizes won at the tournament. In the tnofnlng a tweiv*-hole consolation medal hintc-h will be played.
