SOCCER TEAM'S TOUR

QUEENSLAND BEATEN. THREE GOALS TO ONE. BRISBANE, June 4. The New Zealand Association football team defeated Queensland by three goals to one on the Brisbane cricket ground this afternoon. The heat during the week-end culminated in general rains today, and the 'ground was a quagmire. Good football therefore was out of the question. The game, however, was hard and fast, the visitors excelling in short passing and control of the ball.

Campbell opened the scoring 18 minutes after the start, netting the ball from a corner kick by Inness. Queensland equalised the scores midway through the second half through Warrell making good use of a partial clearance by Craxton. The New Zealanders attacked again just afterwards, and Campbell made no mistake with a brilliant shot. A few minutes before time the ball was centred in a good position for Innes to shoot into the roof of the net, and add the third goal for the Blacks.—(A. and N.Z.)
