Dr. Truby King is at preeent in Christchurch. Mr. R. McCallum. M.P. for Wairau, left for Wellington by the express last. night. Sir. and Mrs. M. J. Brodie, of Wellinsrton are at present staying at the Grand Hotel. Messrs. D. A. Hamilton. J. L. Salt, anl G. W. Robertson, of Wellington, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Justice Chapman will leave Wellington on Friday next for Christchurch to continue the civil busim-ss at the Supreme Court. Mr. A. G. Quartley, who lias been attending the sittings of the Court of Appeal in Wellington, returned by the express this morning. I Mr. Phil. H. Hayward, of Auckland, i* at present in Hamilton on the occasion of the opening of the New Strand Picture Theatre there. Sir James Coates, diJjjctor of the National Bank of New Zealand, has accepted an invitntion to join the board of directors of the South British Insurance Company, to till the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. John Edson. Mr. A. G. A. Harmsworth, London, a nephew of the late Lord Northclifi'e. who is making a lengthy tour of New Zealand, is at present on a visit to Christchurcli, having arrived there from the Weet Coast on Saturday night. He is accompanied 'by Captain G. A. Thomas, iiis tutor.
