BLAZE IN SHANNON.
TOUR SHOPS DESTROYED. (By Tel">eraph.—Pr»s« Aeoeiation.) PALMERSTON NORTH, this day. The biggest fire known in Shannon for twelve years occurred, early this morning and resulted in the destruction of four shops—those of Burr, tobacconist and billiard room; Mrs. Coakley, t«e rooms: Watterston, -plumber; and Thwaitcs, chemist. The premises of the Shannon Meat Co. were saved with great difficulty. The fire raged for three hours. The insurances are reported to be very small. The buildings were owned by Messrs. Carter, Watterston, Gill and Roach. ■
