1 POLLING DAY TO-MORROW. I ' The by-election to all the two seats on the City Council vacated by the i deaths of Mr. H. D. Heather and Mr. P. li M. Mackay, will be held to-morrow. i.l Four candidates have been nominated, v! Messrs. E. J. Phelan and R. F. Barter Jby the Labour party, and Messrs. S. 1. > : Crookes and A. E. La wry by the Pro--3' grtssive Citizens' Election Committee. , I The twenty-four polling places are an- j . j npunced in our advertising columns and the polling hours will be from 9 a.m. to . 7 p.m. All persons on the municipal roll are entitled to vote to-morrow, and .' the present electors' roll contains 35,916 names, as against 32,730 on the rol last I December fjjr the by-election to fill the seat vacateof'by the death of the Hon. P. J. Nerheny. On that occasion the ■' apathy of the city electors was so proc*e * nounced thai only 2581 persons veted. ". the successful candidate, Mr. G. Davis, " receiving 1252 votes.
