MOUNT ALBERT.
BUILDING PROGRESS. SATISFACTORY FIGURES. Building operations continue to be carried on on an extensive stale in thu Borough of Mt. Albert. * The permits issued for the three weeks ended April 8 were: 16 for dwellings valued at £12.560, 11 [or additions and alterations valued at £396, and three for other buildings valued at £450, the total value being £l:!,40G. The permits issued during the year ended March 31 last were fo_r, building? of a total value of £274.650! Of this total the new school in Kowhai Street represented £31,000. Of the remainder '253 dwellings represented £220,683, three shops and dwellings £3125, one part dwelling £250, five'shops £3110, additions and alterations to dwellings £5346. Commenting on the_ report the Mayor, Mr. A. F. Bennett, stated that even the three weeks report Showed very little falling off, while as regards the annual statement of building activities it seemed to him that no council could wish for a ibetter report for the year.
