j Sir William Hall-Jones, M.L.C., is on ! his way to Eussell. Later he is to visit the Mangonui district. Mr. Justice Herdrnan and Mrs. Herdman will leave Auckland to-morrow tor Rotorua. where they will spend their Easter vacation. The resignations "of Mrs. D'Arcy Hamilton and Mr. H. A. Evans, as members of the City Schools Committee, were accepted with regret at the meeting last evening. ' Mr. H. H. Allan, master of agricultural science at the Ashburton School, has been recommended for the degree of Doctor of Science at the New Zealand University. Th& Hon. J. G. Coates. Minister of Public Works, is to visit Te Kuiti and Aria on Saturday He will open a post office in the last-mentioned district, and then proceed to Hamilton. Mr. A. B. Charters, who resigned from the position of Inspector of Schools in the Wellington district about IS month 3 ago to take up farming, has returned to the profession, this time in Auckland. Further changes in the railway staff are announced. Mr. J. S. Scoullar of the Tistrict Traffic Managers 6taff, Auckland, transfers to the District Traffic Office, Ohakune. and Mr. Houaley from Ohakune to Auckland. Mr. J. Crawford transfers to Te Kuiti. The chanties take effect immediately after the Easter holidays.
