AT THE "GRAXD" TEAROOMS. It has been commonly stated that for high-class tearooms Auckland, with all its beautiful natural endowments. « behind the cities Chri=tchurch and Dunedin, but the "Grand" tearooms, situated on the first floor of the Grand Theatre is now under the management of a Southern lady who : >s demonstrating by careful control and a service of lunches and refreshments in accord with good taste, that the "Grand - " tearooms claim the patronage of people who prffer all the particular advantages of dainty food snd complete <*Dmfort. The ''Grand" is what mip-ht he called a dear little tearoom, cosily appointed with neat furniture and restful lounses. The lone frontal oval-topprd window, whkh overlooks Quoen Street, from opposite the 0.P.0.. gives a -piondid light, and in a!l other respects the interior U pleading. Ladies enjoyinp a div in town or on shopping , borr arc rjui« l< to discover the virtua? of light liinciip.s or afternoon teas. The noon menu consist; chiefly of cold meats r.nd salad, and the afternoon refreshments comprise dainty cakes, gems, pikelets, and notably, exquisitely made erea m sponere. The evenin;; meal ro!d meats and salarie, eggs cooked to any order, with toast, and other tastefully served hot dishes. Though those rra gardens have bePfi only a few weeks in row hands the "Grand" special h'ended tea has won the wide commendation of connoi?i=eur«. Home-made jam is a!.so supplied, if desired by patron-, who speak in globing term* of the arti-t ; e and quality service always maintained.
