AGED VETERAN'S DEATH.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) KAV/'AKAWA, this day. John Carroll, a Crimean and Indian Mutiny and Maori War veteran, haj died at Kawakawa, aged 89. He wu very highly respected. The funeral was touchingly conducted by the Bay of Islands Returned Soldiers' Association with full military honours, and membera of the Orange Lodge, of which deceased was a member, were also in attendance.
