TAKAPUNA FORESTERS' HALL.
DISPUTE OVER OWNERSHIP. DECISION AGAINST TAKAPUNA FORESTERS. A verdict unfavourable to the Tatapuna foresters, it is understood, has'been given -by the District Appeal Committee regarding the ownership of the Foresters' Hall at Takapuna, claimed by the local court and also by the District Executive. Prominence was given' to this dispute recently by an "army of occupation." stated to number about sixty, being dispatched from the city to forcibly take possession of the building on behalf of the Auckland District Executive and also by subsequent proceedings in the law courts. The dispute eventually found its way to the society's District Appeal Committee, which concluded an exhaustive investigation about midnight on Saturday. The District Sub-Chief Ranger presided throughout these sittings, notwithstanding that objection was made on the ground that he was a member of the district executive, the whole of whom were parties to the dispute. The district secretary conducted the case for the district executive. The advocate for Court Takapuna was a prominent Takapuna citizen. At the first sitting the chairman ruled that as an honorafy member he could not represent Court Takapuna, but he was speedily received into full menlbership, and this objectioir was overcome.
