m MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. The Maungakiekie Golf Club opened their One-tree Hill course on Saturday. A large number of players took part in a mixed foursome match, which was won by Miss—H. Fouhy and H. G. Rose, who, with a handicap of 11, were three down. The members were entertained at afternoon tea by the president, Mr. L. Taylor, and Mrs. "laylor. and the captain, Mr. R. O. Gardner and Mrs. Gardner. AUCKLAND LADIES' CLUB. The C grade match of tbe Auckland Ladies' Golf Club for Mrs. Edward Russell's prize will be played on the Middlemore links to-morrow in connection with the monthly bogey match. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PAEROA. Saturday. Tbe Taeroa Goir Club held its official opening to-day in beautiful weathor. , The president (Mr. Arch. White), iv weld ning a large number of visiting players, expressed the wish that tbe visiting members would come again, and that the Paeroa Club hoped to pay return visits' during the season. This year a very large uumber of uew players have joined tbe club. and. -with the Improvements to the links, the prospects -are bright for a most successful season. KIRKWOOD STRIKING FJIRM. NEW YORK. April 7. In tbe Greenbrier open golf tournament at White Sulphur Springs. West Virginia. J. H. Kirkwood. the Australian golfer, finished third with a score of 291 for 72 holes.
