THE ORPHAN.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l was very sorry to read in the "Star," that three little children were nr.t wanted in one of our "Church Homes," because there was no one to pay for them. At the present time, when so much is being done for our Orphanages, it p-ives one something to think about. What great changes and advances have 'been made since ray childhood, but the churches are stiil the same. You must pay. pay, pay, or you arc not wanted. I should like to suggest to all our churches, that if they were to look after l-ho children in our own. city instead of sending so much to missions, they would indeed be doing a much greater work than they are doing at present. 1 am sure there must have been many parents like myself who, after reading the case, must have prayed, "Heavenly Father, spare mc until my children grow up, so that they need not go to any church home."—l am, etc. " A MOTHER.
