NEWMARKET RESTRICTIONS. TO BE ENFORCED. Motor cars and other vehicles, when through Newmarket, have again been placed under restrictive regulations. \t a meeting of the Borough Council last evening it was decided to instruct the borough's traffic inspector to en-j. feree the new by-law, making it an , offence for vehicles to pass tramcars : going in the same direction which are j stopping or have stopped to allow pas- j sengers to enter or leave the cars. Vehicles are compelled to stop, and can- | not start again until alighting passengers have reached the footpath and intending passengers have got into the car. The stopping places to which the by-law applies are at the corner of i khyber Pass and Broadway, the corner ; of Broadway and the reserve, and the ; iiiteviec-tion "of Station Strqet and Broad-j war. It was pointed out that the last- ', named stop referred to both sides of the ,' street. |
