COALMINES DISPUTE.
NO NEW DEVELOPMENT. OUTPUT SATISFACTORY. (By Telegraph.—'Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Xo developments have occurred in the dispute between the Miners' Federation and the Mineowners' Association. Disputes in the various districts have been referred to the Arbitration Court, and the cases will be duly heard when the Court sits in those centres. The mineowners some weeks ago declined to agree to the suggestion of the federation for a renewal of the national agreement, and cited the unions separately under the Conciliation and Arbitration Act. Conciliation sittings were held in several centres, but assessors for the unions in each instance failed to appear. Tt w assumed the federation, in accordance with a previously-announced decision, will ignore the Court proceedings, in which case the Court has power, if it thinks the owners' claims fair and just, to make an award in the absence of the miners' representatives. In the meanwhile it is reported that the output from the mines is satisfactory.
