DEATH OF MR. KALLENDER.
A much esteemed resident of Devonport, Mr. Henry James Kallemler, died on Monday, aired 67 years. Deceased was the oldest surviving son of the late llajor-General George Kallender. M.S.C., and his only Tjrot.her living is Mr. J. A. Kallender, of the Bank of New Zealand. Deceased was a widower with no family. Mr. Kallender was prominent in the Masonic fraternity. He was a Past Master of Onewa Lodce. Xortheole, a member of Ara Lodge, No. I, X.Z.C., an office-bearer in the Auckland Royal Arch, No. 0 Chanter, and in the Rose Croix Chapter, 18th degree. Prior to eomini; to Auckland, Mr. Kallender was engaged farming in the Waikato. He joined the Auckland Laud* Office twenty years ago, and was in charge of the counter until five weeks ago. when he retired on superannuation./ Mr. Kalleuder was very pomilar in the service. Last week lie underwent a serious operation. The interment took place yesterday afternoon at Purcwa Cemetery.
