FIRST TEST MATCH. WEATHER PROSPECTS BAD. AUCKLAND PLAYER INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Rain is falling, and the prospect of fine weather for Saturday's test match is not good. The New Zealand team has been practising each morning since Sunday, under the coaching of Messrs. J. W. Stead and A. McDonald, of the original All Blacks, and the side is shaping welL An accident at practice to-day, though, may deprive New Zealand of one of tb& beat forwards. The players were being shown how to stop dribbling rushes from line-outs', when W. McLean, the big fast young Auckland forward, wrenched a knee in falling over A. McDonald, who had gone down on the ball. It is doubtful whether McLean's knee will permit , him do play on Saturday. N. R. Fogarty (Taranaki) may go into the team. W. A. Ford (Canterbury) arrived from the North last evening to fill the place of B. Algar (Wellington) as one of the emergency backs.
