LIQUOR FOR TRANSHIPMENT.
SEIZED IN UNITED STATES. LEGALITY TO BE TESTED. (Received 10.30 a.m.l NEW YORK, July 20. The Anchor Line, a British steamship company, has tiled a bill in the Equity Court asking for an injunction to restrain the Collector of Customs at Now York from interfering with a shipment of liquor originating in Olasgow, and consigned to a foreign port. Plaintiff maintains that the recent order of the Secretary of the Treasury regarding the seizure and retention of alcoholic beverages billed for tranship- , ment to American ports contemplates j a violation of the commercial treaties between Britain and the I'nitcd States, ' especially the trade agreement of 1871.— (A. and N.Z.
