MURDERED PRISONERS.
GENERAL ON TRIAL.
LONDON, July 4
At the trial at Leipzig of LieutenantGeneral Stenger, whom the French Government charges with issuing an order for the killing of wounded and unwounded prisoners, Dr. Wenger gave evidence that after the battle of Saarburg in 191* he took over a medi«al party in charge of two wounded French prisoners. The corporal informed him later that the prisoners were shot by order of Major Crusius. The authorities are attempting to 6how that Crusius is mentally deficient, with a view to rebutting his statement that Stenger ordered the execution of prisoners.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
