SCHOOL BUILDING.
DELAY IN SECURING MATERIAL PRIVATE CUSTOMERS FIRST. (By Telegraph.—'Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. The greatest difficuHv which the Auckland Education Board has to face in connection with its large scheme of building extensions for schools is the delay in securing timber, bricks, and other materials. "1 am informed.* , stated the Minister of Education to your correspondent, "that some mill 3 and. contractors postpone Education Board orders to supply private customers. I hope this is not true. Auckland business people have always taken great interest in their schools, and as the welfare of the children is at stake I feel I shall not make this appeal to them in vain. I shall be loth to ask, unless forced to do bo, that absolute priority be given to the supply of materials for school buildings."
