HOPE OF SETTLEMENT.
COAL OUTLOOK BRIGHTER.
NEGOTIATION TO-DAT. TRIBUNAL AGREED UP OK. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. Good progress has been made towards settlement of the coal mining dispute. The Premier informs mc that he has had a further conference with representatives of the miners and coal owners, who are in Wellington. They agreed to a tribunal being set up, which will consider the whole question and arrive at a final decision. This arrangement has to be ratified by the executives of the respective organisations. The tribunal consists of one representative of the mine owners, one of the miners, and a chairman recommended by the Prime Minister. All three have been tentatively agreed upon, their decision to be final, but in the meantime their names will not be made public. On the setting up of the tribunal the "go slow" policy is to cease, and normal operations are to be resumed.
