LEAD TO UrTDTSTJAti SCENES. WOMAN'S APPEAI TO HER SEX. LONDON. .January 28. Some interesting phases crop up in connection with the advent of mixed juries in the Divorce Court. One woman asked to be excused from service on the ground that she had an imperative engagement in connection with unemployed women. Counsel ajjreed to continue the, hearing of the case with 11 jurors, and the judge emphasised the fact thai women must accept the same responsibilities as men. A wife figuring in a divorce suit appealed to the women jurors: "I know you will understand a mother's feelings, even if the men cannot."— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
