REPATRIATION AFFAIRS.
ACnVTTIES OF THE BOARD. | A meeting of the Repatriation Board i wa_ held yesteday. Mr. J. McLeod j presiding. b_--ines3 appUcations were dealt with. 7 being reeom-j mended, 11 not recommended, 3 granted. 4 withdrawn by the applicants, and 31 referred to the Land Board. Fifty-seven furniture applications were dealt with. 54 being granted and three declined. There were 3.S names on che employ-' ment register at the commencement ot j the week, and 31 had been received since I then. Of these 18 were placed in emI ployment. 10 failed to reply to commumI cations, presumably having found employment, thus leaving 41 names on the register. Thirteen men were granted the retained portion of their subsidy, having completed their training, three were ' gTanted loans for tools of trade, three : granted fees, books, etc.. whilst studying at schools and cotlejr<-e, two were , granted sustenance whilst training at I the Technical College, and four - were | placed as trainees in workshops and fac* , , tories under the subsidised workers' , | scheme. —
